I’ve just finished reading Turning Pro by Steven Pressfield. The book has both left me shaken, and yet also shaken away much confusion.
I’m learning that:
- being at the barre is it’s own reward (seeing I love dancing so much)
- gardening is it’s own reward
- work is it’s own reward
It’s when we work/dance/garden for it’s own reward, that greater good come from it than doing those same activities for some external reward or recognition.
As the the saying goes “dance like nobody is watching”, is because when we’re doing it for our own pure pleasure, that it gives ourselves (and those who might be watching) permission to be their own true selves too.
